Portugal, magnifique roman graphique de plus de 250 pages, c’est la longue quête des origines de Simon Muchat, auteur de bandes dessinées parisien. Un peu dépressif, en mal d’inspiration, mal en couple, mal en famille, Simon se retrouve au Portugal, au hasard d’un festival de BD. C’est le début d’un lent travail de maturation, qui va le conduire à chercher ses origines portugaises, à interroger sa relation au père.
Un récit ample, graphiquement très abouti dans l’utilisation subtile des couleurs comme strates de narration, dans le dosage savant des transparences. Une grande réussite.
